This is the easiest type of wine bag to sewIf you like to present wine as gifts and can sew, then this easy-to-make bag will be a breeze. Not only can you create these bags to slip a bottle of wine into, you can make up a batch of them and give them as gift sets. Sort through the discount bins and you'll find plenty of colorful material for wine gift bags. Grab a packet of ribbon and you're set for this project. The uncut block of material can be sized in two ways: Sew up both sides with top lip hem: 30" x 8.5" Fold over and sew one side and the bottom: 17" (width)
x 15" (height) The end size is the same. To finish the project, you'll need 22" of complementary-colored ribbon - any style, ½" is best. Make a knot in the middle, pull it tight, and hand-stitch it to one of the side seams three inches down from the finished top lip. Tie knots at the tips to prevent unraveling. These bags can be
made in any size to hold many other gift items: soaps, lotions, sachet.
Seasonal material is fun to use, especially if you are making a set
of bags to give as a gift. |
