The Cheesiest Macaroni and Cheese Recipe

Macaroni and Cheese is a comfort food that appeals to all ages; this recipe is the cheesiest ever!

One of my favorite all-time favorite foods is macaroni and cheese. It doesn't matter if it comes from a box or the cheese from a pouch. Many favorite recipes seem to call for oddball ingredients - at least to me, but most people rave over the variations.

This macaroni and cheese recipe evolved over many years. It's easy to make and is so delicious - especially if you are a cheese fanatic.

Cheesiest Macaroni and Cheese
Serves 4-6 as a side

¾ lb small elbow macaroni
1 jar Cheez Whiz
1 cup grated Monterey Jack
1 cup grated Cheddar (plus another cup for sprinkling on top)
¼ cup parmesan
1 teaspoon ground black pepper

-Prepare the macaroni according to instructions on package (you may wish to shorten the time as it will be baked).
-In a large bowl, mix all other ingredients.
-Drain the macaroni and add to bowl; mix thoroughly so that cheese is well distributed.
-Coat a large, deep casserole dish with cooking spray and fill with mixture.
-Sprinkle remaining cup of grated Cheddar on top.
-Bake at 350 degrees in a preheated oven for about 45 minutes.

You can also add cubed beef summer sausage to this recipe to make it a main meal (pre-cook the sausage to eliminate some grease). If you like a bit of crust, leave in long enough for the top and bottom to crisp up.
